eSignR On-Premises solutions:
From October 2023: We are now offering our corporate customers and partner companies the option of installing eSignR on-premises once. This means considerable time savings for companies when implementing and maintaining our software. The on-premises installation also gives corporate customers access to the eSignR REST API. This allows the signature process to be seamlessly integrated into internal workflow processes.
What is the On-Premises installation of eSignR?
The On-Premises installation allows companies to run the eSignR software in their own system environment. The software is installed locally in the intranet on a dedicated server (e.g. intranet or Linux server with Docker support). This allows companies to dispense with time-consuming multiple software installations and to activate the software for employees who are authorised to sign. In this way, data sovereignty is fully preserved and the documents never leave the company’s own systems.
Advantages of the On-Premises compared to the standard eSignR solution
No installation on devices
The eSignR software no longer needs to be installed on the personal devices. This greatly simplifies the rollout process.
Free choice of hosting environment
You can operate the server-side components of eSignR in your own system environment or with the hosting provider of your choice.
Data protection and security
They provide advanced protection by enabling physical control over data, allowing customised security policies, operating in isolated networks to minimise risk and giving businesses full control over security updates.
Integration in Workflow-Systemen
eSignR can be integrated into existing local systems and workflows. This facilitates the adaptation to existing business processes.

On-premises solutions provide control and adaptability for compliance, especially in regulated industries, by implementing customised policies.
Overview of our standard and On-Premises solutions
There are three different options for how eSignR can be used in your organisation:
Option 1 – Standard solution
You want to install eSignR on your device and run the ISO 27001 certified backendon our servers.
This option is suitable for
Private individuals, individual users and small businesses.
Software-Installation
eSignR software is installed on personal devices.
Team administration
The administrator registers all team members in the eSignR online portal.
Availability
The standard solution can be used immediately.
Technical requirements
Windows (from Windows 10), Mac OS X (from 10.7.4) and Linux.
Technical information
The eSignR software must be installed on your employees’ workstations.
New: Option 2 – On-Premises «light»
You want to install eSignR once in your company and continue to keep your data confidential.
This option is suitable for
Medium-sized to large companies, corporations and partners.
Software-Installation
The eSignR software is installed on one of your company servers. A software installation on the workstations of your employees is not necessary.
Team administration
The administrator registers all team members in the eSignR online portal.
Availability
The light version can be put into operation within two weeks of signing the contract.
Technical information
- A runtime environment for Docker containers
- A TLS certificate for the reverse proxy
- Internet access (HTTPS) from the Docker container runtime environment to the server-side components of eSignR at Glue Software Engineering AG
Technical information
Server-side components for communication with the signature provider and the administrative data are run at Glue. However, the interactive part of eSignR is provided as a Docker image.
News: Option 3 – On-Premises “full”
You want to install eSignR once in your company and operate all eSignR components In-House.
This option is suitable for
Medium-sized to large companies, corporations and partners.
Software-Installation
The eSignR software is installed on one of your company servers. A software installation on the workstations of your employees is not necessary.
Team administration
The administrator registers all team members in the eSignR online portal.
Availability
The “heavy” version can be put into operation within two weeks of the conclusion of the contract.
Technical requirements
- A runtime environment for Docker containers
- A TLS certificate for the reverse proxy
- Internet access (HTTPS) from the runtime environment for Docker containers to the server-side components of the signature service (AIS, RAS) operated at Swisscom Trust Services AG.
- Access to an STMP mail server that can forward e-mail from eSignR.
Technical information
All necessary components are provided as Docker images. You are responsible for the operation and maintenance of your data. You also need your own access to the signature service of our technology partner Swisscom Trust Services AG.
